The Mitsubishi Lancer and its high-performance variant, the Lancer Evolution, occupy a legendary position in motorsport and car enthusiast culture. The Lancer Evolution (Evo) competed in the World Rally Championship and won the WRC Manufacturers' Championship 3 consecutive times (1996, 1997, 1998). The final Evolution X (CZ4A, 2007-2016) used a 2.0L MIVEC turbocharged inline-4 producing 291 hp (Japan spec) with a sophisticated All-Wheel Control system, Super Active Center Differential, and Active Yaw Control rear LSD. The Evo X Final Edition (2015, limited to 1,000 units) closed the chapter on one of the greatest sports car nameplates in history. The standard Lancer (CY, 2007-2017) offered 1.5L (107 hp) through 2.4L Ralliart Sportback (237 hp) versions.
